Description

1 Appellant, Barnswell Jones, asks us to determine whether the suppression court erred when it denied his omnibus pretrial motion which, inter alia, sought to suppress all evidence obtained as a result of an investigatory detention subsequent to a routine traffic stop on October 17, 2001. Appellant also challenges the sufficiency of the evidence to support his convictions for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance ("PWID") and conspiracy. We hold the investigative detention of Appellant was lawful under the circumstances of this case. We also hold Appellant had no constitutional expectation of privacy in a rental automobile, where he was the operator of the vehicle but not the named lessee, he was not an authorized driver, and the return date on the rental agreement had passed. We further hold the Commonwealths evidence was sufficient to support Appellants convictions. Accordingly, we affirm.
